Dog Days of Summer - What's New July/August 2017

July and August are often referred to as the "dog days of summer", the hot and often muggy period between early July and early September when Sirius, the "dog star" rises and sets with the sun. Whether you're looking forward to some vacation time or getting ready to go back to school, there are still a few weeks of Summer ahead.

These new Summer themed dog bandanas were all added to our shop in August. They can be ordered as either Scrunchie Bandanas or Collar Slipcover Bandanas.

Seashore Treasures Beach Dog Bandana

Schnauzer Wauzer Snap Tab Key Fob, Purse Charm

This adorable Schnauzer face with natural, uncropped ears looks just like our Penny! Made of gray or white vinyl and secured with a snap, includes optional hardware so you can attach it to your key ring or purse. Can be customized in other colors - drop us a note for more info! Just like our other dog breed key fobs, these arrive gift ready, mounted on an embossed card and wrapped in a 4 x 6 inch clear bag.

A new hardware option is available for all of our snap tab key fobs! You can choose a one-piece swivel clip (shown on the gray version above) in place of the key ring and lobster clasp (or no hardware if you have your own).

Other Shop News

In July, we streamlined the ordering process for our custom size dog bandanas on our SewAmazin website. Since our Scrunchie Bandana style is so popular, it's now our default style when ordering a customized bandana.

Collar Slipcover-style Bandanas can still be ordered, but the features needed to customize them are now optional and are no longer required to continue to checkout.

New Bandana Sizes:  Thanks to some recent feedback on custom orders, 2 new sizes are available for large breed dogs! Bandanas can now be ordered in Size XXLarge with a 9 inch drop and 3XLarge with a 10 inch drop.

Request a Design:
In a post on our website blog, we asked our readers for suggestions for bandana designs. As a result, I'm working on a sports fan themed bandana that can be customized with team colors and your pets' name. The listing should be ready by early September (I've been slowed down a little by a miserable Summer cold since July).

Update on Keli:
She's recovering nicely from her surgery in June to remove a malignant growth on her face. The fur on her nose is growing back and she seems much happier now. At 15.5 years, she's slowed down a little, but still enjoys a daily walk and, of course, lots of treats!
